Aquaria

Aquaria is finally coming.  A demo will be released along with the full game via download from bit-blot on December 7th.  It's $30, yikes, but they promise there will be about 20 hours of content so that's pretty good bang for your buck.  The download is a hefty 200MB but they're claiming it's due to all the art in the game.  Let's hope everything looks as [...]

Heaven 2 Ocean

(Click me to see the full size version) Heaven 2 Ocean is a sidescrolling (side-tilting?) platformer with light puzzle elements.  It's veeeery similar to LocoRoco for the PSP.  The controls are simple, just move the mouse left and right to tilt the screen.  Why would you want to tilt the screen you ask?  To move your cluster of water droplets, that's why.  Your goal is to [...]

Zan-Zan: Episode Two, The Re-Hattening

Zan-Zan's at it again in the second installment of the short series.  This game's short, really short.  That's not bad if you're looking to spend a quick 20-30 minutes collecting mushrooms.  It's a decent, tiny platformer with simple controls, left-right arrow keys to move, space bar to jump and advance the text. Like the previous paragraph said before, your task is to collect mushrooms to advance.  [...]

Final vision

Do you like platformers?  Do you like final fantasy?  Do you like leveling up via grinding?  Then Final Vision is your game. After a couple minutes of tinkering with strange controls (They turn out to be handy once you get used to them) you choose your character's class.  There are four types, and one non-type.  Here they are (taken from the game's readme file):      Fighter  - Uses Swords [...]

The Art of Theft

(click image for larger version) The Art of Theft is a stealth platformer set in 1991.  Our protagonist is a British cat burglar named Trilby and he's loose in "Chapow City," which is somewhere in America. The game starts off with a quick tutorial to get you acquainted with all of Trilby's basic moves.  Right away you'll notice the game's graphics are blocky and look like an updated [...]

Bud Redhead

Bud Redhead is a collect-all-the-fruit-you-can sidescroller.  The graphics are pleasant and everything is well polished, which is such a relief from the hordes of indie games out there with poor UI, bad controls and even worse gameplay. The only problem with Bud is that it's pretty basic.  You just collect trinkets to increase some number that doesn't mean much (that's your score, dude) and there aren't any [...]
